Moisture is Dangerous!
In light of this year’s hurricane season, it is highly important to keep an eye out for flooding or moisture in and around your house. Often, water damage to your property can lead to serious mold growth.
Mold reproduces via spores, which can be naked to the visible eye. Since spores are able to travel through the air, it becomes difficult to completely remove all mold growth that has occurred.
Here are the following ways that mold can grow quickly out of hand:
- Mold can grow on any surface - wood, paper, carpet, and foods. With moisture, mold grows quickly and begins decaying materials.
- Houses with low ventilation can trap humidity. During the warmer months of the year, humidity in airtight houses can lead to more mold growth. On the other hand, houses with cold air drafts can lead to condensation. In the cooler months of the year, condensation can foster mold growth in unwanted areas.
- Mold growth can result in the reproduction of other bacteria and organisms. A variety of bacteria and mold can cause sickness to those on the property.
